Maintenance 3/4/09: 36,074 miles at Circle BMW. Front left brake caliper was hanging up, replaced under CPO warranty: front brake pads, rotors, sensor, and brake caliper. All fluids were topped off, and oil service was performed including oil filter and air filter. Brake fluid was flushed.
Here's the awesome free rental I got while my brakes were being fixed: ![]() Last edited by roobe16; Sat, Dec-19-2009 at 09:17:58 PM. |

4/17/09: Winter wheels come off, OEM 19's go back on
Maintenance 5/28/09: 41,973 miles at Circle BMW. DME software update, fluids topped off, and during the winter it would sometimes take two cranks to start the car up cold. They checked everything out and found no relevant faults, most likely it was the winter ethanol fuel blend. Also the hood sensor was faulty causing the OEM alarm to sound on its own. Hood sensor was replaced and I had the M mobility cartridge replaced because it was expired. Everything was covered under maintenance warranty. 06/2009: Pulled over and given a ticket for illegal window tint again |

9/17/2009: Back in 07/2009 while driving home from work on a highway I unfortunately ran over a tire tread and already dead deer on the same night. Tire tread hit the right front bumper, deer hit the left front bumper. I wish I had taken a picture after I got home, the front right bumper was solid black and the front left solid red from the blood. It all cleaned off, and the only evidence was a small crack in the lower portion of the front bumper on both sides. The two impacts also knocked out both fog light covers. Cheap replacement from Tischer, but I didn't get around to buy and install them until 9/17.
9/18/2009: Whew, got a nasty speeding ticket on Rt. 18 in Ocean Twp for doing 100mph in a 65mph zone and a second careless driving ticket. The cop (actually, detective) was pretty cool about it and gave me careless instead of reckless. Later in December 2009 in court, with an attorney's help the speeding ticket was thrown out and all I got was the careless driving (a $200 fine, two points on my license, and a required defensive driving course, which I took online and takes the two points off my license). Ended a lot better than it could have. 9/29/2009: Pulled over again, the third time for illegal tint on front windows. It was actually the same cop that pulled me over for the same thing three months prior. This cop was not cool. He acted like a d1ck. Got a ticket, and I now drive around this town on my way to work. Maintenance 10/2/09: 48,464 miles at Circle BMW. Inspection II performed. Valve adjustment, oil change, filter changes, AC belt replaced, alternator belt replaced, fluids topped off, windshield wipers replaced.
10/31/09: A little early to put the winter wheels on, but I got a bolt in my tire on the summer wheels and I was going to replace the tires in the spring anyway. So instead of patching the tire, I just put the winter wheels on. While doing the swap, rear brake pads looked a little low so.... Maintenance 11/5/09: 51,015 miles at Circle BMW. I had them check the rear pad depths, and they replaced: brake pads, sensors, and the brake discs. Fluids were topped off, and I asked them to clean and adjust the parking brake and parking brake shoes. Everything covered under maintenance warranty. Shortly after taking the winter wheels off this year, I wrestled with the idea of getting CSL reps, ZCP wheels, or other aftermarket wheels to replace the OEM 19's. Another NJ forum member had put E9X M3 OEM 18's on his Topaz M3 last year, and I really liked the spoke pattern and gunmetal color of the wheels. So, in November a set of E9X OEM wheels+tires popped up on the forum for a decent price in near new condition and I bought them.
Sadly I won't be able to see how they look on Phoenix Yellow until the springtime...but I took some pictures of the wheels next to my M after I cleaned them. Need to find them on my computer, and then I'll post them. A couple weeks after buying the E9X OEM, I sold my OEM 19's on this forum and made back a little of the money I had invested in the new wheels. |

Haha yeah I was going for the extreme aggressive look, I'll probably track it at those offsets, throw in some serious negative camber too. I think they'll look good mounted, I wanted darker than OEM but not black or hyperblack. Gunmetal is a perfect in between.
