Lightbulb Cheap insurance for young ///M3 drivers

Hey guys, I need your opinions.
My family is moving back to overseas. Im staying in the United States to complete my education. Im 19 and My car was registered on my dad's name due to expensive insurance and etc.

So i will have to register the car on my name and get it insured.

I recently got a ticket.(2 points on my license;careless driving).

My buddy told me that i better not take the driving course to lower the points because the insurance will know that ive received the ticket anyway. So, he thinks the insurance won't be low at all.

Should i take the driving course to get rid of the 2 points on my license?

Anyways, what insurance company do you guys suggest? How much do you guys pay?

I was not a part-time driver on the policy either.

Thank you.

Keep in mind that we live in the mostly densely populated state, which is part of the reason our car insurance rates in NJ are ridiculous. I have the Allstate Platinum Protection Package. The policy is in my name w/ no other vehicles, I'm 29, haven't had a ticket in 8+yrs (knock on wood) and I pay $212 a month. That is very reasonable, to me, compared to what I used to pay when I had to be on the state insurance plan

As far as the driving course, it certainly wouldn't hurt regardless if it lowers your insurance.

With your age and ticket and state location, i believe you are looking at around 300 or more a month.

Easily. 300 is probably on the low end.

It's unlikely you'll be able to remove a point from your record unless it was recent. Also, you usually wave your right to traffic school when you pay the ticket outright, but this varies state to state. You're probably looking at $4000+/year depending on which insurance company you go with.

If you can get it, USAA. They are crazy cheap and great. Only problem is a member of your family has to have served in the US Military, Air Force, etc.

I'm paying ~800 a year for two cars up from about 750 when I just had the M3 with full coverage. I'm 24 with no accidents or tickets.
