Default Need Help: How to mount Escort Radar Detect on an M3 coupe without using suction cups

Hello all,
New guy here. I have been searching the forums for ways to hard mount an Escort radar detector (without using the suction cups). In my previous car I had my Escort detector mounted from the rearview mirror stem using a blendmount. Unfortunately, this mounting method will not work due to the unique rearview mirror stem housing on the M3. I found one of the vendors sells a similar mounting bracket but it is only for V1 radar detectors. I was wondering if anybody here has found some way to mount their Escort radar detector either from the rearview mirror, or perhaps some other fixed mounting point. I understand there are many people who don't like the idea of mounting radar detectors from a rearview mirror, and they are definately entitled to their opinions. However, I hope this thread doesn't turn into a discussion of pros/cons. I am only looking for alternatives to using the suction cups. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

PS, If anyone knows the link to the how-to hardwire a radar detector from the rearview mirror/ vanity light area, can you please post the link? I remember looking at it, but now I can't find it.

This is what you saw, it is for a V1, but can be used to hardwire ANY radar detector.

I would attempt to offer assistance - but your post is rather adamant about what help you don't want - so I'll defer.

I know V1 has a sun visor mount that does not use suction cups. Not sure if Passport has this or not.

I believe there is one for the Passport RDs, although you have to buy it separately (unlike with the V1). That might be a good option. I am still playing around with the idea of modifying the covers pieces on the rearview mirror stem. Anybody else have any other suggestions?

There's a guy on here that was rather handy with his radar, but it was with a V1.
