Thanks for all the responses guys. I want to test drive this car, especially my Dad as well because he is considering buying this with me and he has never even been in an M3 lol. So once he experiences it, I think he would be sold on it.

Another reason I can't test drive is because there is no insurance on it, it was only insured for 9 months during the summer and spring.

I guess I just need to come up with some idea to get this car for a PPI or give up... Unfortunately.

the seller is being unreasonable if he is not letting you test drive the car. What is he expecting, a tow truck to take it from his garage to a BMW service center? I would just tell him to go F himself personally for wasting your time.

Is there a chance the car is fine and you could buy it and there would be no problems....yes.

Is it worth the risk?....absolutely not, never, no way.

Don't buy unless you can go on a test drive and have a PPI.

(as for your dad getting to drive a M3, there should be lots available to look at and test drive. I would also test drive both a 6MT and SMG)

When I bought my M, I didn't know how to drive stick so I was not able to test drive it. But the owner did take me out and run the car through its paces. A couple of days later I had a PPI done on it, and couple of days after that I got my car!

You gotta always test drive it and Do a PPI and get all the maintenance history on it from the previous owner to make sure its been taken care of good.

Let me ask you this.....If you are selling your car who do you let test drive it? You cant let any and every Joe Schmo take her for a test drive can you? So whats the appropriate etiquette? I have to be honest, I would have to be very far into the negotiations to just let anyone drive her and Im not hiding anything. My car is mint....So whats the general opinion??
