Subscribed. I am still looking for a setup for the season...
I think your tires are fine. Keep them for another season or two

You'll conitnue using OEM rears next year? I'd recommend 275/35ZR18 Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec - $241 at Tirerack. (And, then let me drive your car to see if I like them better than my XS. And, let me borrow them for Nationals in case it rains.)

I love my Dunlops SS Z1. They also wear like Iron. NT05 are great too but they wear VERY fast.

I'm going to join you guys for the scca STU campaign as well, but on dunlop Z1s until I wear them out. I'm not doing the full season subscription since if you miss 1 event it doesn't really make any difference cost wise.

cool. Sounds like we will have a decent amount of M3's in STU in DC this year. We can have our own competition amongst ourselves and not invite the boost buggies

I wish they'd split ST into AWD and 2WD classes.

I think a major revamp of ST may be on the SCCA agenda over the next couple of years and hopefully this issue will be addressed. One of our local St Louis Region guys is a new member of the STAC and I intend to discuss it with him this spring and write a letter at some point. Such a change would help more than just E46 M3 drivers and increase participation IMO.

You can drive my car if you want. I may buy those tires that you recommended. I did buy some more wheels and tires a couple of months ago. couldn't resist, deal was too good. They are not really ideal though (VMR CSL reps 19" with RE-01R's 255 and 275) I am waiting until taxes to hopefully buy a wheel and tire combo for auto-x. I think those Apex wheels are sick. I dont know if I will get 285 width because I dont think they will fit since I dont have coilover.

Cant wait for auto-x season

Is there a treadwear limit in stu. I autocross with two groups and one lets you run a dot slick and the other requires 140 or over on treadwear(stock class).
If it is a true street tire class and any tread wear is alowed i prefer the pzero corsa w/a treadwear of 60. If it is 140 and over then i prefer the potenza re050a at 140 treadwear.

Are there any thoughts on why these two tires can be improved on other than the price of the corsa's?
