I spec this out online to $72K, what is a fair offer I should expect from the dealer if I were to order one from them. $3K off? $5K off? msrp? I am in the bay area, there are four bmw dealers around, all within 25 minutes.

If you can wait for 3-5 months, you will be able to get 10K off those prices.

Well, first of all you can't spec out a 2010 now. The factory is retooling for the 2011s that start down the production line in early March.
I don't feel the need to squeeze the crap out of the dealer on every sale and we have an agreement for 6% off the sticker. That's $5k off on an $83K 2011 M3 vert.

http://www.truecar.com/BMW/M3/2010/b...&zipcode=94104 Discount amounts will vary. One is less likely to get as great a discount on a built-to-order purchase. However, some discounting can be expected although you may have to go to a second, third or fourth dealer to get the satisfaction that you are looking to get. In a couple of months, in some markets, the 2010 models will start being "blown out" with a vengeance. If that's what you want, waiting is your financial friend. However, choices will steadily decrease in time. 2011 models will be tougher to get discounted in some areas. Again, call internet sales reps at different dealers to find out what pricing variances exist in your area. Also, it may pay to be willing to go out of state to purchase. Good luck.
