seems that most of the MAC haters really haven't spent much time behind them and the real pushback comes from the learning curve associated from going to a new OS. I have to say after owning mine for over 2 years there are still some things I haven't become used to and I find PC's more "logical", but that's just because I use 2 PC's at work and 1 MAC at home during my leisure. If I had to sit in front of a MAC all the time things would come to me faster, but that's just not the case. For people who use MACs in their home office and their daily job, i'd be stressed to find someone who doesn't love them. But for people who use PCs for their daily job and go home... I can see how choosing a MAC could be difficult. Since I've had mine I have to say I've gone through at least 4 PC's at my job and my MAC still runs fantastic at home.

Wheres the poll?

I use Macs at home bc I can run XP through vmware if I need to and they are just better. i use PCs at work since they run xp pro and are cheaper.

disagree all you want, but there is a reason why 95% of the world is on PC, not MAC. if MAC has the 95% market shares today, it will crash/virus/spyware, you name it. The reason why it doesn't slow down, crash/virus/spyware as often is because no hacker care about that 1-2% market share that MAC has. No money to be made off there.

i wanted to like MAC, but as soon as I start browsing around that OS, I found it horrible. Sure you can search by using the finder, but what if you don't know the name of the file you are searching for? you need to browse right? browsing for files in mac is the worse.

I don't like the aqua menu in a MAC as well. looked like it designed straight off the bat for chick. another thing is you don't have much control in the mac or atleast it is silly to get to it. Looks like this OS is made tailor to people who have no technical knowledge. I was looking at the network configuration for Mac and it basically either work or don't. the error doesn't tell you much either. for example, to do a ping in windows, start/run/cmd, then ping

here is how to do a ping in MAC. You wouldn't know how to do this unless you look up the manual.
#

Click on Finder in the dock.
#
Step 2

Click on Macintosh HD in the window.
#
Step 3

Click on Applications.
#
Step 4

Click on Utilities.
#
Step 5

Double-click on Network Utility.
#
Step 6

In the Network Utility window, click on the Ping tab.
#
Step 7

In the field under "Please enter the network address to ping," enter yahoo.com to ping Yahoo's domain servers.
#
Step 8

Click the Ping button.

not really;

MAC:
1: click on the magnifine glass on the upper right (spot light)
2: start to type "terminal" but mac knows what ur typing so it brings it up after "ter"
3: type "ping xxxx"

PC:
1: start > run
2: cmd
3: type "ping xxx"

looks the same to me

I have 2 macs and 2 pcs. The macs have had about 2 kernel panics (crashes requiring a forced shutdown without the ability to save what I was working on) each in the last 6 months, while I haven't had a pc BSOD or crash since I was using XP about 4 years ago. Also, I haven't had a virus in 6 or 7 years either. Having said that, I can't say that one is better than the other, they're just different. I love the pcs' ability to easily swap in an inexpensive part or upgrade but also enjoy the macs' better external feel and construction. For video editing, Final Cut Pro on the mac is about as good as it gets, but for games obviously the pcs rule. Just depends on what you want a computer for.
