Default Pizza delivery guys - gotta love 'em

Car is sitting all by itself in front of my store 30 feet from the another car. I mean, don't want any door dings, right? Pizza Hut next door........

He moved my rear wheels a good two feet sideways. He said that they gave him too many deliveries and he had to put some on his dash.

Do they require an IQ test??????

Talked to his insurance (State Farm). I asked about OEM parts. She told me that they used aftermarket or "good recycled" parts. I told her not on this car, 11 years old, less than 60k and almost pristine. She told me they guaranteed that the car would be as it was before the loss. I told her yea, it had BMW parts before the loss.

Now, here is my dilemma, I would like to take it to a dealer but the nearest one is an hour and a half away. It will be another week before I can get it there.

We do have a real good shop in town that I think I would trust to do the work. It is worth the extra travel and time to take it to the dealer. The dealer is Sun Motor Cars outside of Harrisburg, PA. They seem to have a good body shop and a good rep.

I've had the car two months.
Sh_t, Damn, F_ck!!!!!!

if you have a GOOD local body shop, I would almost trust them more than the dealer..

my local body shop by my parents house is AMAZING, and only use manufacturer panels

Hey! I'm a pizza delivery guy!! And of course they don't require IQ tests, because no smart person would keep this job for long! Also why it was so easy to get it in the first place, turn over rate is rediculous.

Sorry to here...and "good used" parts, pff.

sometimes the local shop is better, ive seen alot of dealerships send cars out to their private shops, bring it local but make sure they do the job right

State Farm used BMW parts on my car

I don't care if they put on a used bumper, reconditioned Contours, etc. It all looks and fits perfectly and they used new OEM hardware on the suspension.

New BMW door skin or perfect used door and they will fix the quarter panel. When you sign off on it, make sure you look at it under different light sources, as Red is a tough color to match. I'd drive it out of town if I thought the job would be better. Find out what paint systems the shops use.
I delivered and ate a lot of Pizza in my 74 Valiant. It was Red.

same by us in Columbus. We have this spot called AchBach

they're so good they don't have a website or logos on their building. They are one of less than a handful of places in Ohio that can repair aluminum frames

you should see how well done-up they did my roommate's subie when it got slapped silly by garage siding after a giant windstorm

Reed,
Had a similar incident in my 49k mile, all original paint 20 year old 951S last year.

Things were not that bad until i said "diminution in value" to the adjuster. They sent out another adjuster to nitpick the car and point out every minor, and i mean minor defect in a 20 year old car people in the industry call patina - including a spill on the white carpet.

Take it to your body shop and leave it there. let the owner of the shop do what he is trained to do. forget the dealer, they are more like factories - unless there is something written in the dealer's "policy" in order to keep their franchise that they cannot use a non bmw or used part.

also, there is small claims court. check your local laws to see how it applies.

When they offered me $60 for an alignment i went off and took her and her company to small claims court. brought in a letter from PCA estimating the diminution in value, the value of the car, etc along with a national zone rep of PCA who owns and owned a half dozen of the cars. he confirmed there was no prior accident damage, etc. and guestimated at the diminution.

it all worked out well in the end.
