Not sure, that's why I quoted Deilenberger's post. He should be able to explain.

one month later....
my symptoms: yellow oil light illuminates for about 10 seconds when engine starts. oil temperature gauge does not work. fix: replaced oil level sensor (bought from ebay). oil temperature gauge works now, oil light doesn't illuminate at engine start. NEW problem: yellow oil light comes on after engine is warm. my oil level is good. anyone know what the problem is and how to fix?

Like Obioban said, it could just be your oil level. My oil light comes on after awhile, because my car burns oil. Just make sure the level is near the max, and if it STILL doesn't go off, then it's your sensor. Just check that first before you go spending money.

this is starting to happen to me but it's on and off. I keep adding in oil but after a week the light comes up again. Hope there's no leak

Have you checked the level with the dipstick?

Yeah I did. It was almost at min so I refilled it. A week later the light comes up again, turn off the car and turn it back on, the lights gone. I check the dipstick again and it's more than half. It's weird too because sometimes I feel like the dipstick level fluctuates..
