At the mileage it is better off as a museum piece... if you want to put miles on a car buy one with 100k+

Those are genuine GT3 seats right?
No, they are replicas. I believe I was the first to put them in an E36 and didn't want to spend $3k+ on seats only to have them not fit/work as planned. Some day I may opt for the real thing...but these have treated me well.

Its one of my favorites...the perfect car for a spring day to just cruise around.

Its not like I think my car is going to be valuable some day on account of the mileage and I do drive it when I am able to get it out of storage. Seeing as how I am more than anal about this car, I prefer to have it pristine and for it to be a special experience each time I drive it (maybe 1200 miles/year).

There are plenty of other cars in the family barn to play with...I get my driving fix weekly.

That is an amazing car collection!

My Avus Blue '95 is the exact opposite of yours. It's my DD and unfortunately, it shows. But, hey...I try to keep it as clean as possible.

Where can we find those nifty paste waxes you referenced?

Thats true and I thought about picking up another sedan or even a stock coupe to DD...but I would have a hard time with the notion of owning a duplicate car, despite the fact that I don't often drive the Avus car.

Instead I bought a 2005 WRX Wagon with a handful of mods to be my fun and practical car/dog hauler.

Both can be had from www.autogeek.net

Souveran Paste is pretty spendy $95/tin whereas the Nattys waxes are more reasonable at $20/tin. Neither of these waxes are going to provide serious durability...but both will look awesome on Avus.

That said, its really not about the wax you use. If the paint is polished well (zero defects) any caranuba wax or sealant will look fantastic. I only say this because when I first got started into my detailing obsession I bought every paste wax someone mentioned in a thread and really its about the prep work.

It might be blasphemous, but I have never been blown away by E30 M3s...enough so to justify their price, anyway.

The S52 swapped E30 M3 I drove was pretty awesome, but I didn't walk away needing to have one.
