Can someone link the Horsepower Freak lawyer thread? I must have missed that. Also any advice on dog insurance? The only stuff I have heard of is from the place inside Petsmart. How much a month are we talking? I know that no matter the cost I would pay it to keep my dog Gixxer alive.

Lol, Gixxer. You can go through the ASPCA or VPI. I have ASPCA. It's ~$15/month.

I am not vet but in my opinion these prices are BS and they know it. They just take advantage of people in desperate situations...

my story is similar.. our husky/shepherd mix developed lymphosarcoma .. bad ass cancer in chest/lungs.. vet charged us about 1500 dollars for two shots which were probably some ground up bullshit sprinkled with ( man these people are idiots.. are they really going to pay me that much ) topping...

she was so sick after about another three days.. the sorry worthless veterinarian tried to con us out of more money for more 'treatments'. i had to firmly tell my gf several times that this quack has no qualms with taking your money.. he doesnt care and she is going to die anyway.. she will die and we will be broke... makes me want to punch that guy in the face to this day...

Making the choice to have expensive surgery for a pet is a very personal decision. And sadly not everyone can afford to do it. I can say that when my black lab/rott mix needed surgery to relieve two herniated discs in his back, I never gave the $3200 cost a second thought. What he has given me far exceeds what I could ever give him.

Amazing story bro. So hard to contemplate dog vs. their quality of life vs. your $ situation. My family has had 3 dogs and 2 have had to been put to sleep because of cancer. Black and Chocolate Lab. Currently my parents still have our golden lab of 9 years. She's still as fuking nuts as the day we brought her home. God bless her and I love her to bits, she's the best! I admire your commitment to shell out 10K to save her, most people wouldn't have that kind of money to save their dog no matter how great they are. Def lucky in that area.

I'm sure if money wasn't an option for people money to save their pets would fly like the wind. You sir did a great deed, best wishes for her and a speedy recovery.
