As for the tailgaters, I have my reverse camera powered off a relay and a switch as well as the standard reverse signal for parking. This way, I can be driving and flip the switch and turn the camera on and my reverse light LED's on to warn people to get off my ass... Works....well

That is totally awesome!!! Can you provide details how one may accomplish this. So perfect for scary tail gaters.

Interested as well, though with the extra switch is there some sort of built in time limit on their illumination incase one forgets to turn them off so we dont roast our M's rearend?

Well the heat emitting off the LED's beam isn't horrrible. It's the heat around it, the back of the LED circuit board is mounted on a small aluminum heat sink to dissipate the heat. The housings don't seem to melt, not with mines atleast(although there are many diff series of CREE LED's) I have a dynavin unit so my wiring may be different. I had to wire my keyhole reverse camera and reverse trigger wire to the dynavin anyways so it wasn't bad... Basically you need:

Ignition switched +
30A relay
Assorted wire and connectors
Switch
Diodes

The diodes are a MUST. You do not want to back feed a positive current into the car when the cars electronics is not sending the bulb a current. Diodes only alloy current in one direction.

I'll give a more in depth writeup hopefully soon. Unfortunately I'm terribly busy with things at the moment :'( And my M is parked so I have to try to do it by memory..

I'm very interested! I'm heavily invested in Cree stock as well! Knowing that the future of all light will be LED! This looks good bro, please post some more info about this. Great work.
