Hoping that maybe someone ran in to this before and can give me some light..
Car is an '02 with SMG. Ran car for about 15 mins prior to changing oil to get it up to operating temp. jacked car up in the front while it was still running to get it prepared to drain. Turned car off, left in 1st with emergency brake on. Performed oil change, everything back together as it was prior to doing oil change. Lowered car down to original position. Went to start the car up, car will not start, wont click over, or do anything. SMG light is now on, when I put transmission in to 1st, it flashes 0, and 1 will not come up. When I have car in 1st, I can push it around as if it was in neutral. Disconnected battery for 20 mins or so, went back out, and getting the same problems. Lights that are on when ignition are on are: SES Battery Oil SMG I thought the SES, battery and oil light all stay on until the car starts up, but I never do remember the SMG light being on before. Can anyone give me any suggestions??

Hood. Open and close your hood. Lights should go off after 6 start ups.

Tried the opening and closing the hood about 6 times this morning, is there a trick to it, does the ignition have to be on, or smg in 1st, or is there any particular order?? still no luck after trying that this morning...

Maybe leave the battery unplugged for 30 mins, reattach and see. Other than that, read the SMG troubleshooting thread see if anything matches.
