Naked man claiming he's Jesus causes five-car pileup

A naked man "yelling that he was Jesus" triggered a multi-car accident Saturday morning on Interstate 95 in Norwalk, Conn.

Officers responded early Saturday morning to a call regarding a disturbance on I-95 northbound near exit 14 in Darien, according to NBC Connecticut.

When the officers got to the scene, the naked man -- whose name was not released -- drove away in a silver car. Local authorities and State Police began to give chase, and they pulled the man over near exit 16.

After the police pulled the man over, another driver stopped short to watch the scene unfold, causing a tractor-trailer to hit the brakes and jackknife. The truck hit several other cars and flipped before stopping by a tree, NBC Connecticut reports.

A rescue team was able to extricate the truck driver, who was trapped in the cab of the truck.

The truck driver suffered injuries as a result of the crash, the extent of which were unknown. However, he was conscious and speaking with paramedics, according to NBC Connecticut. Two others were injured in the accident, but the extent of their injuries was also unknown.

The accident completely closed I-95 between exits 14 and 16 for approximately six hours. All lanes of traffic had reopened by noon.

De Florio says she decided to go topless to solve the problem because police wouldn’t do anything about the ATV noise. De Florio says baring it all is the bravest thing she has ever done.
“I’ll do what I have to eradicate this problem. I didn’t buy a house by a racetrack,” she said. Mike Berry says he is at the end of his rope.
“I’m not happy with what has been going on,” he said. “We need a little give and take. It isn’t right to go around topless in front of kids. I don’t want to stir things up.”

A Utah man is in custody after he allegedly went on a naked rampage in Wyoming that included ramming vehicles with his car, getting into other people’s vehicles and laying in the middle of the road.

Wyoming Highway Patrol Sgt. Stephen Townsend said the dispatch center in Cheyenne, Wyo., received a call at about 9 p.m. Wednesday that a car was swerving in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 and drove off the road about seven miles east of Wamsutter.

The caller reported that the driver was running across the road in front of traffic, Townsend said in a press release. Other callers reported that the man was naked and standing in the road.

A few minutes later, more callers said the man — later identified as Armondo Cano, of Moroni, Utah — was fighting with someone else on the side of road. He then got into his car and rammed an eastbound vehicle about 17 miles down the road, the press release said.

“When both vehicles stopped, Cano, still unclothed, attempted to enter the couple’s vehicle,” Townsend said in the release.

A passer-by saw the crash and pulled over to help. Townsend said Cano climbed into the woman’s car as she ran away. Townsend said Cano found a 9mm handgun in the car and began firing it.

“At this time it is unclear how many rounds he fired or exactly what or who he was shooting at,” Townsend said.

The couple in the car that was rammed drove off and Cano got back into his car, chased them and rammed their vehicle again, the release said.

He then allegedly drove another three miles down the interstate, stopped, got out of his car and laid down in the middle of the road with the handgun. As passers-by stopped to check on him, Cano used a pipe to break windows out of their vehicles, Townsend said.

A truck driver was cut during the incident, but the extent of his injuries was unknown.

A Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper arrived at the scene and tried to arrest Cano. The two struggled and with the help of several truck drivers and a Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Deputy, they were able to handcuff Cano.

The woman who owns the handgun was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbon County, in Rawlins, to be treated for breathing difficulty. Cano was taken to the same hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Cano is being held on an “emergency detention,” Townsend said in the release. He has not been charged, but likely faces numerous felonies, Townsend said.

The Sweetwater County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case to determine what charges will be filed.

A madman wearing only underpants and a shirt swiped a delivery truck and went for a wild joyride in Brooklyn Thursday, striking two young girls and several vehicles before he was collared, cops and witnesses said.

The lunatic was munching on leaves straight from tree branches and menacing kids with a garden hose in Marine Park before he suddenly hopped behind the wheel of a parked delivery truck and sped off - with a worker still inside.

Shimshon Eisenberger, who had hired the delivery truck to ship an order for his furniture company, identified the worker-turned-terrified-passenger as Sardo Sutherland.

"Sardo was in the back, screaming for dear life and holding on," Eisenberger said, recalling the moment when the underpants driver sped off with all the grace of a bull in a china shop.

"He smacked into a bunch of cars and kept going. I'm in total shock. I've never seen anything like this in my life."

The deranged driver tore through the neighborhood like he was in a demolition derby, in the process striking two 12-year-old girls at the intersection of 37th St. and Fillmore Ave. in Marine Park.

One of the injured girls, 7th-grader Amelia Hellebusch, said her class was returning to P.S. 201 from a field trip to Marine Park.

"The teacher tried to stop the truck, but he just went around us and nicked me," Amelia said. "I did not see it coming."

Amelia suffered an injured ankle. She and the other girl, whose injuries were also nonlife-threatening, were treated at a local hospital, police said.

The runaway driver continued his tour of devastation, sideswiping several cars before blasting through the open lawns of Marine Park, police and witnesses said.

"He was running red lights," said witness Alexis Von. "Every time he turned a corner, he hit a car."

With police on his tail, the madman veered into oncoming traffic on Nostrand Ave. in Sheepshead Bay, striking a car driven by Abdul Gul. He finally got corralled by cops after blasting into a double-parked car near the Sheepshead Houses, police said.

The runaway driver carried no identification, police said. He was taken to Kings County Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.

Gul said he was lucky to be "out of the car alive." That sentiment was shared by Amelia's stunned mother, Fran Hellebusch, who was "hysterical" but thankful her daughter survived her run-in with the crazed driver .

"He's not a well man, but God forbid, it could have been worse," Hellebusch said.

Cops: Woman falls out window, lands on car, sleeps

LAKEMOOR, Ill. – Police said a 30-year-old woman apparently fell out of a third-story window, landed on her parked car, and then walked into a neighbor's house, where she fell asleep on a couch for two hours. Lakemoor Police Chief Mike Marchese said family members believe the woman woke up before dawn Thursday and fell through the screen while opening a third-floor window.

Marchese said the woman bounced off the hood of her car, walked through a neighbor's open garage door and went into the house.

The neighbor found her asleep two hours later and called 911.

The woman, whom police have not identified, was taken by ambulance to Centegra Hospital-McHenry. Marchese said she was not suffering from any life-threatening injuries, but he did not know her condition.

Naked Transgender Woman goes on a Vehicular Rampage

PAYETTE, Idaho — A transgender woman who was at odds with police over how they acknowledged her gender identity in a 2007 traffic citation was arrested for investigation of rigging what appeared to be four pipe bombs to a propane tank at her home, torching her car then running naked along a rural highway.

Catherine Carlson, 53, was arrested Sunday after firefighters responding to a report of a fire found pipes made to look like bombs on the porch of her trailer home in Payette, with a note warning of a booby-trap, authorities said.

About 50 homes were evacuated in the southwestern Idaho city when another call came in, reporting a car fire at a storage unit on U.S. Highway 95. The vehicle had been doused in gasoline.

Another call alerted police to a naked woman running down the highway, carrying what also appeared to be a pipe bomb. Police later learned the pipe contained legal documents, not explosives.

"She's had some issues with the Payette County jail regarding her sexual orientation," Payette Police Chief Mark Clark told KIVI-TV. "During questioning, Carlson said she is trying to bring attention to her plight."

Carlson was being held in Payette County jail on suspicion of use of weapons of mass destruction, arson and indecent exposure. It could not be immediately determined if she had a lawyer.

Carlson legally changed her name to Catherine Carlson more than three decades ago, before she had a sex change operation in 1980.

In 2007, she clashed with authorities over a traffic citation after they included her given name, Daniel Carlson, on some documents. The name Daniel Carlson is listed as an "aka," or "also known as," on the citation records.

Since receiving the citation, Carlson has been jailed at least four times for investigation of failure to appear for court-ordered community service, driving without a license and other allegations.

Among other things, she objected to being held in a cell by herself, rather than in a housing unit for female prisoners, as she had requested.

A bomb-squad robot was used to blow up the pipes found at the trailer home. The Payette Police Department didn't immediately respond to a question about the composition of those devices.

Naked Woman Beats her Man's Car with a Dog Leash

A Mesa woman greeted police officers in the nude and holding a beer after allegedly vandalizing her boyfriend's car with a dog leash, court records state. Police were called to a home near Guadalupe and Alma School roads Sunday afternoon because a woman was reportedly throwing items at a vehicle, damaging the car and its windshield, records showed.

When officers arrived at the scene, the woman's boyfriend flagged them down. The damaged vehicle belonged to him, and police said he appeared to be distraught as he said, "Look what she did to my car." Both the front windshield and the back window were described as "completely smashed," causing about $1,000 in damage.

The victim waited outside as officers went up to the house to contact the woman. When she answered the door, she was naked and holding a beer, according to records. She told officers she had been skinny dipping. The woman, identified as Chandra Reed, 23, was asked to put on clothes before being questioned outside, police said. Police reported Reed appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and was "belligerent" to officers, calling them "pigs" and refusing to answer questions.

Officers attempted to place Reed in handcuffs, but before they could she allegedly threw her head back and struck an officer in the chest, causing him to stumble. She apparently continued to say expletives throughout the struggle to secure the handcuffs.

Reed denied damaging the victim's car, but the victim had taken pictures on his cell phone of her swinging a dog leash into the windshield. Reed was arrested on aggravated assault and criminal damage charges.

Naked man hospitalized after drinking game leads to prosthetic leg being set aflame

LAS CRUCES - A 47-year-old Dona Ana County man is in a Texas burn center after a drinking game left him nude on the side of the highway with his prosthetic leg in flames.

Sheriff's deputies learned that the victim and friends were drinking Monday and had made a bet that whoever drank the least would be set on fire, according to a news release.

The victim told investigators that since he drank only six beers, the least amount, he agreed to let his friends set him on fire.

The victim, who has a prosthetic left leg made of plastic, said his friends set his leg on fire, which spread to his buttocks and lower back area, causing severe burns.

Not being able to stand the pain, the victim disrobed. His friends then decided to take him to the hospital but became "nervous and dropped the victim off" on U.S. 70, the release said.

Witnesses reported seeing an individual walking on a U.S. 70 bridge with his leg on fire. Another witness reported that the victim was naked, while other witnesses reported that the victim was struck by two cars and even attempted to jump into passing vehicles as well into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer.

When questioned by deputies if he had asked his friends to stop at any point in time while setting him on fire, he stated "no, he lost the bet" and therefore did not attempt to stop them.

The man was taken from MountainView Regional Hospital to a Texas burn treatment center.
