Default Water leak in the door / window

Sometimes after it rains hard I have a pool of water in the side of the driver side door. Anyone seen this before or know where to look to try to fix this?

vert or coupe? I believe the vert has rain channels that run from the windshield pillars and drain below the door. If these get clogged, they can back up and leak into the car - at least that was a problem on my old Z3.

  • If you are wondering about whether or not to buy snow tires, please review the dozens of threads where people caused thousands of dollars of damage in a light snowfall at 10 mph.
  • If you are thinking about buying an M3 because they can now be found pre-owned fairly inexpensively, please review the threads explaining how expensive the maintenance is. Plan on spending $2,000 or more per year on routine maintenance.

Check if you have a tear at the back of your window in #2 (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...66&hg=41&fg=40)on real oem. If it tears near the window it will pull away from the door. When the door is closed it creates a nice little cup in the door gap to funnel water right into the door. Can anyone tell me if the window needs to be removed to replace this on the car or does it just push in with the window down?

Nope, Looks like I'm wrong in my case. I'm blind because the split is suppose to be there. I have no clue what is causing this.

I had the same problem on my E46 330i, changed out the door seal and it fixed the leak.

If you determine that is your problem we have replacement seals available below...

Click HERE to order or for more information.

Please let us know if you have any questions! Feel free to shoot me a PM or email.

Best,
Joe
