when i first got my m3 i was content with the performance but after racing a 535 and only beating it by a car (mind you it was late and i was tired so i was shifting horrible) but either way im looking into getting a catback and ecu upgrade i know that doesnt add much but im just looking to ad about 20 hp and im thinking of headers too what would be the best ecu also i might get the catback and ecu now and then the headers later is there an ecu that can be manually adapted to the mods you have

Check with Turner Motorsports. They have a bunch of packages that let you pick the pieces you want. You can choose one that will include a Shark Injector and whatever assortment of exhaust pipes you want (headers, section 1, section 2, muffler).
Other than that, you can always send your DME out to someone like Discovery Automotive for a tune.

Headers and ESS software might be your best if you're looking to gain 20HP, catback exhaust will most likely lose power.

ive heard great things about ess softwere, and i believe you are taking it to far by claiming you would loose power, i call total bs on that unless you can supply dyno graphs done on the same day wich support your claim.

many will say ebay since they are so cheap, but fit like crap and the collectors suck. when ill be looking at headers i probly will go with evosport or ap something like that.

+1 You cant make a statement like this unless you have seen evidence to back it up.

Well, why dont you guys find my dyno graphs showing where an aftermarket exhaust has given HP gains?
There have been many threads here on the forum where folks have had an aftermarket exhaust and then decided to go back to stock and felt that their car is performing better with the stock exhaust. I guess what im trying to say i wouldnt buy an exhaust for HP gains, more for sound. OP, I wouldnt go with eBay headers, i'd hunt down some used csl/euro headers or get in touch with Jack@CPI and get some SS stepped headers.
