Also, Brian and I had a look at my FCABs and noticed one looked *maybe* slightly cracked. It was hard to tell, though, but he's got pictures.

We got a ton done on that day, that's for sure.

I was researching gear pop out issues, and some of the stuff I found was kind of scary (eg, transmission replacement). Now that I think back on the incident, I think I was maybe being too light on shifting.

Also, a bad transmission wouldn't make sense since when we changed the fluid, we didn't see any metal shavings at all. Just trying to rule out all possibilities here.

All right, the bolts are out for delivery today. I'll have a look at 'em as soon as they arrive to make sure they are the correct ones. I'm glad I did the $15 3 day shipping! I was originally going to order the parts from BMW of Austin, but on the phone on Saturday, they said it would take 4 days to ship, and they never answer their phones anymore.

Well, this was slightly disappointing. The new bolts are exactly the same as the old ones (new part # but same part). I am pleased that I ordered the right part, however.

Some pics of old (warped one) vs. new:

Oh, yeah, it was just superseded by a part number. I figured there would be some kind of updated design, but it doesn't appear so.

Actually, scratch that. I'm going to head to my dad's to knock it out. He has all the tools, and it should take us like 15 minutes (he also lives like 3 minutes away). I don't want to make it too large of an ordeal, and you have been more than helpful already. I feel bad asking for anymore help as it is.

Thanks for the offer anyway. I'll see you guys on Sunday.

It was kind of an eventful DIY day. I:

Replaced the bolt
Fixed a rattling window (thanks, AltF4 for the advice)
Examined a squeaky clutch pedal problem (I didn't fix it, unfortunately...bushings are on order, though)
