Default Oil Reset Light

I have a 98 vert and I wish to reset the oil service lights, I have tried the DIY with a piece of wire putting it to ground and inserting in pin # 7 and turning the ignition to the second pos for several seconds and nothing happens... I still have 1 green bar left do I need to wait until the red bars appear and then reset as above or can it be done now?? I have tried 6 times and nothing changes, is it me or what?? thanks in advance guys..

Use the "search" function for stuff like this.

to reset the lights
1) turn key to on
2) get a paperclip or a piece of wire with the ends exposed
3) short pins 7 and 19 in the diagnostic port in the engine bay (passenger side rear of shock tower)

hold it for
1) 4 seconds to reset oil timing light
2) 10 seconds for service inspection timing light

Sorry my ingrish not so good... I tried that like 20x I am using 2- 10 or 12 gauge pieces of wire plugged into 19 and 7 and both are grounded to the ground nut just below the plug-in port.. I guess my question should have been, "1 green light on can I still reset or do i wait for red",, thanks in the short term for your kind help sir..

make sure you are connecting the right holes and that the key is already turned to the on position before jumping. those numbers are small and could be mistaken for another one.

Just did this to both of my cars. I have never not had my Inspection lights on. Fantastic!
