There's some wire that plugs into the brake ducts. What does it do? Is it just to hang onto the duct if it somehow falls out? Also, what does the other end of the wire connect to? Is there any way to replace it because on the passenger side, mine is cut. If there is a way to replace it, where can I buy the replacement?

Wait. Nevermind. I found the sensor. Do you know what to do about the wire since it's damaged?

Depending on your car, each duct will have a single sensor in it.
Drivers side is ambient air temperature. This shows as outside temp on your OBC. Passenger side is heated washer nozzle sensor. |

What does a heated water nozzle sensor do? And how do I fix my problem?

Wire, solder w/flux, soldering iron, & heatshrink tubing that should work quite nicely!

http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...70&hg=61&fg=45 #24 is the sensor you need. One of these is the connector http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...90&hg=61&fg=15 And one of these is the the wire/terminal required. http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...96&hg=61&fg=15 Doesn't matter which you wire a temp sensor btw. There is no polarity. Anyway you plug in the terminals to the connector is correct. |
