Default Autocross 09/26/10

Here's video of last weekend's autocross run. This was my final run, 47.4 seconds. 21st out of 29 cars after class adjustment. In comparison the fastest street car was a RX-8, 39.7. I would say at least half the field if not more were running R compounds. I was a novice in comparison to most of the drivers. I'm running basically stock suspension with Eibach front swaybar. My tires are Dunlop Star Specs. Only engine mods are CAI, M50 mani & shark injector. I also had a passenger. 43.4 would have put me right in the middle as far as time. I still have a lot to learn, but feel every autocross I'm getting a bit better.

car sounds great!
very nice. you just have to learn where you can hammer it/let the car go and where you need to hold back a bit. smooth the whole way.

like that first slalom part couldve used more spd.
Once my bro figured that out his star specs would howl(but not to the pt of understeer/losing a lot of spd) and his times dropped a lot.
Keep up the great work.

This was only my 2nd ever autocross. There was a guy with an 04 ZHP, just hitting cones left & right on his first 5 runs. I was thinking who is this guy? Does he know how to drive? Then I figured out what he was doing. His last run, perfect. Ran it in 42.2 seconds. I have to get over the mindset that hitting cones on your early runs isn't all that bad, that way you know how far you can push yourself on certain portions of the course.

RX-8s handle very well. And on an auto-x course their lawnmower engines don't handicap them.
