great on the bumper and trunk.
sorry to hear about hood. i have yet to see a vorsteiner hood that looks acceptable in terms of fitment

i didn't know seibon fit so well. awesome.
great to hear about the side skirts.

that is true. good point.
on the painting before fitting. oh well.

OEM fitment is a must.

I'm all about reconditioning my leather, replacing my rubber exterior trims, replace any scratched up interior parts, re-spraying rock chipped panels etc. etc.

I always "wow" to an early e46 M3 that is flawless in and out than something that is modded but beaten up.
yeah, once you see or have oem+ parts, it is hard to "deal" with most aftermarket fitment.

with vorsteiner, fitment is hit or miss depending on the part as it has been pointed out by folks in this thread and in others. also, for the very same part, such as bootlid, one person will have great success with near-oem fitment while others don't. there is great production variation mostly due to mold.

that is great to hear. what modifications did you do to make it fit just right?

nice discussion goin on ...

as for me, replacement is not on the table because i'm not going to deal with getting my car into the body shop again for test fits, prep/paint, then waiting for the finished job to be road-ready.

jlevisw got a call from vorsteiner about my complaint, they want to initiate an RMA, so i'm shooting for a refund.

honestly.. all after market parts may or may not have issues. something like a diffuser could be easily test fitted in 5min. if there's a problem exchange/return it. from my experience, vorsteiner has the best fitting aftermarket csl parts you'll be surprised to know that most of the fitment issues from bumpers, bootlid, diffusers and hoods are not real. its caused by the lack of experience made by the installer. lack of experience installers always blame the manufacturer.

may be so. this shop has been around a while, they do a local bmw dealer's vehicles. although not many shops like aftermarket stuff because of the hassle, i doubt they didn't fit it properly. it's obvious the top tabs go into slots in the bumper, that's all there is to this diffuser, but my oem diffuser is already painted and reinstalled on the repainted bumper.

so i won't bother with a test fit again. i lose shipping, big deal, vorsteiner may find this part to be in compliance and resell it.

for me, 2010 has been the year of losing money ... in one way or another ... getting used to it.

anyway, i'll bite the bullet with shipping handling and take back whatever it cost (minus the original shipping) ...

I'd imagine the Flossman to be the best fitting GTR since they made it for BMW PTG cars.
