Yep. Many of the SCCA clubs are going with 93db for autocross.

Just thinking... rather than reinventing the wheel in regards to cats, how hard would it be to have another version based on the final section of this to bolt up to an OE type section 1? I can't tell from the photos if the angles and cut off points are ballpark or not. By placing the Y there(past sec 1), you could run SS V1 headers and race cats to keep full low end grunt, emissions legal, maybe get some volume reduction from the cats, etc. with a well proven system yet get most of the weight savings and hero peak HP #'s of the track only version. Have cake and eat it too so to speak. The hard part is getting the 3.5" tubing around the diff/axle and that part is already done.

as i see it, this is an exhaust for track cars. cars that are looking for performance, but don't have to deal with any form of "driver comfort". i had a oem section 1, supersprint resonated 2, and ss race and sold them all just to have this set up, since it actually SHOWED power increases. I will live w/the noise for the power. dulling this down to be street friendly seems counter-productive. |

I am attracted to it for weight savings and the ability to put a tow hitch on, but forcing me to justify myself also forces me to acknowledge it is somewhat pointless. I already have a Euro Westfalia hitch that I HOPE to successfully mount in the next couple days and if I can get it to work with duals, my only justifiable reason is pretty much gone... it is requests like i am making that lead to the 31 flavor product offerings which complicates things for everyone. But I still want the weight and non-conformist cool factor of a 3-1/2" single pipe(just like everyone else, )!![]() |

Sounds pretty RAASSSPPYYY to me. Way too loud for the street, but probably a good track setup...
Okay, so I know a good exhaust header and a free-flow cat can help push the exahaust gasses out quicker, but going to an extreme setup like this... How much HP gain would you really get over a stock exhaust (not including the header)? |

Forum member Tonester has a much better setup with oe type section 1 with a 3.5" single after. The 2 into 1 merge collector is in the "better" location which provides better low end while still gaining top end.
