It is mandatory for the stage 2 system for the additional cooling. The main component in the stage 2 is actually the upgraded fuel system.

I'm not familiar with the ESS kits. I put down 410 whp on 91 pump only on a Dynojet. My ecu is tuned to 91. No meth or race gas. Since I'm in Cali, we are pretty limited to 91 octane which BLOWS!!! All of the other AA HKS 1.5 kits that are tuned to 93 octane are putting down 420-445 to the wheels. Since you're in Jersey which has 93 available, you can tune whatever kit you get to the higher octane and more hp.

I plan to run a more aggressive tune with my level 2 upgrade so hopefully I'll see some better #'s. Remember, all these dynos from different states are all subjective. It is nice to see the bigger hp #'s... I won't lie! Lolz!

Either blower will flow enough air to push a stock 11.5:1 compression ratio S54 as far as it can go on straight pump gas before detonating into oblivion, but the HKS will run out of breath before the Vortech if the engine could take more.

Lol what? I think you understood it to be the opposite of what he meant. The Vortech is a more efficient unit, VT less boost = less stress on engine = same hp as HKS more boost = more stress on engine
