Default Hello I need your guys opinion what may be wrong with my car

About year ago I Bought 97/M3 it was beat on and neglected .(got it for cheap).Right away I put new suspension on it(OEM shocks),fan blade(old one had one broken blade) new thermostat, new water pump, new oxygen sensors(two front ones), changed oil etc etc car had only like 79K . Car had bad clutch and I was looking for replacement. Finally I pull the trigger and bought GRIPFORCE clutch (F1 RACING KEVLAR CLUTCH SET & FLYWHEEL 95-99 BMW M3 E36 ) bought all of them parts needed for the job(its a long list I found it here on forum) from the tisherbmw. Found local forum member Calvin(OahuMPOWER) spoke with him and he agreed to do the job . Bought also OPN from Bimmerworld along with oil pan gasket.AKG MM and TM ,all new exhaust gasket and hardware.(Only thing I'm missing did not get it was CSB) Left car at Calvin ( he did great job). on Friday picked it up and it has few issues . CEL light is on got 8 codes (most of them ) are oxygen sensor codes (EE ,EF,F0,E4,3d,4F,19,C6) and there is also vibration from engine. when is idling its shaking litlle drove the car home and that vibration its really bad (when i press clutch in vibration is gone) with clutch pressed in rev engine and vibration is really bad (shaking a car). parked car in garage and I'm not going to drive it until i find out what problem might be. Calvin agreed to do also Head gasket on it since it's bad and its leaking antifreeze .and we going to adress the issue with bad vibration . (now would like to ask what you guys think what might be a issue with it ?Any opinnion is welcome !!

vibration gone with clutch in usually means something amiss in the clutch system

as for the O2 sensor codes, maybe they're not plugged back in or plugged in the wrong positions?

yeah I'm thinking and as Calvin said that flywheel might not be balanced . went to Gripforce site and it stated that fly wheel is balanced . when i cleared the codes two of them came right back on right after starting car (3d and 19) might check if they're plugged back in. I'm afraid to drive it first because leaking coolant and second because it might beak transmission output shaft

so before we go crazy here, let me address everything I did, and go through my thinking here...

new oil pan gasket
clean sludge out of bottom of pan, clean entire oil pan
oil pump nut has been red loctited/torqued/safety wired
power steering has new intake hose, and my NAPA DIY hose with better clamps
reinforced from motor mounts (pulled subframe/replaced with another I already had reinforced)
AKG 80A motor mounts
AKG 75D tranny mounts
new guibo
New rear main seal
new rear main seal carrier gasket
5th gear/reverse gear detent pins
3 shift pins on top
new guide tube
new throw out bearing
new 850csi pivot pin
new fork
gripforce ltw flywheel (installed correctly)
gripforce clutch disc/pressure plate (installed correctly/torqued to spec)
new selector rod shaft seal
new selector rod joint
Bear Motorsport short shift carrier
all new shifter hardware/bushings
all new exhaust hardware/gaskets

I know I'm missing some stuff, but you guys can see how big of a job this was

now, onto diagnosis.

1) I noticed when reinstalling driveshaft, the CSB had some play in it. It was not destroyed/torn, but does have a little extra play in it, that shouldnt be there. (possible CSB)

2) I double/triple checked orientation of flywheel/clutch before installation/torqued properly, so I know the mechanics are perfect, as well as the clutch is working PERFECT. (dismiss clutch assembly)

3) there was not an drivetrain vibration when car was dropped off (dismiss bad transmission)

4) car drives without vibration at slow speeds/low rpms

5) vibrations get worse above 2000-2500rpms. Happens with or without car moving. Strictly based on engine rpm. (dismisses CSB issue)

after going through everything, I honestly think the flywheel might be off enough to be causing this. I've never seen a gripforce flywheel, or installed one. I'm really at a loss on this one, except to pull the tranny, remove flywheel and have it balanced

Normally I dont have someone pick up the car if we are having a problem with it, but due to xmas holidays, and me not being home, I didnt want to leave it at the house for an extended amount of time, not in the garage. I WILL BE fixing the issue after the beginning of the new year, but any help diagnosing would be greatly appreciated

no prob, and thanks for understanding when you came to pick up the car about the holidays. Also a big thanks for letting me do the job. Car is going to be good as new once we figure out whats going on, and put in that new HG (leaking coolant BAD out the exhaust side of the engine)

OP-

Don't worry, you will get it figured out! Calvin will get you set. I agree with Calvin and think that the flywheel is not balanced. Should be a easy fix

Did you overtorque the motor mounts?

Calvin, if the flywheel was installed incorrectly the engine would throw knock codes and it would shut off the affected cylinders causing misfires. It will misfire until you shut the car down for 1min. After restart it will run normally until the driven RPM is met that throws the engine into an unbalance.

Any unbalance from the clutch/flywheel would be caught by the knock sensors. But you have to drive it to full redline to see if it'll go into limp, this cannot be done in neutral, only driving.

used a torque wrench, so no, but something I can double check easily enough

Brett, I know the flywheel was installed correctly, but the issues/symptoms we are having, seems like an unbalanced flywheel

not sure what u are trying to get at
