The APEX ARC-8 wheel comes 4 finishes. One of them is Anthracite. It's like charcoal and bronze mixed together, as it has bronze flake in it. These photos don't really bring the bronze out, but it's the first thing people comment on when they see it in direct sun.

The useful sizes for the E46 M3 are:

18x8.5" et38 - 18.45lbs
18x9" et42 - 18.65lbs
18x9.5" et35 - 18.85lbs
18x10" et25 - 19.95lbs
18x10.5" et27 - 20.45lbs

Here's an example of Anthracite

I've been looking at the Apex wheels as a possible replacement for my BBS CH's. I like the fact they're considerably lighter and i'll have more of a selection for tires.

I just weighed my Advan RS wheels with Nitto NT01 tires: 44.5lbs.

I think it's important to make sure we compare tires with the same amount of tread. For example, a new tire with 10/32" tread will weigh a lot more than a tire on the wear bars with 2/32" tread. Several pounds I'm figuring.

Best to have a set MADE for the car. Kodiak is one that comes to mind. Who cares where they are made as long as they are made right.

I agree with you to an extent. There are some very good quality automobiles and automotive parts being manufactured in Western Europe, the U.S., and Japan. Oftentimes (but not always) you get what you pay for, and I’m willing to pay more for quality products that are manufactured in these countries.

However, I go out of my way to avoid shoddy, Chinese-made products that aren’t built to last. Not to mention the ethical implications of my hard-earned dollars financing the production of poor quality products made by cheap outsourced labor in Communist China.

That’s why I want to know where a product is made before I consider purchasing it.
