lose connection from your electricity man, you might want to check your battery, battery connections, and even the fuse box

I just said it was the starter. Not loose connection.

after reading this entire thread I have a similar but different situation. My car has started fine everyday since I have owned it (3/27/10:33k). Just recently over the past 2 months when we have had hot days, my car doesn't start @ work (75+, lil humid I'm guessing). Everything is fine otherwise. Here is the scenario: Car is parked in garage, garage is cool, starts up fine, make it to work. Few hours later on those "hot" days after being in the sun, no go.. at least 10-15 minutes of turning the key before it gives in to me. Do what I need to do and maybe make a stop or 2, starts back up fine. Only once have I had it f!ck me after the previous scenario. I can't tell what isn't working. Key turn, all lights come on, hear everything starting up, no crank.. Like tonight. Went out at 5:07 to go do some stuff, no start, tried it for like 10 minutes. Came back out 40 minutes later, same thing, back again a lil after 6, started first try.. drove around for about a minute, backed it into the other side of the lot just ICE. Finished work at 6:45, came out and no probs. Drove to store about 1.5 miles away (didn't go over 35), stopped, came back out, fired right up. Car has almost 44000 on it, MT. I just don't fricking get it. And to clarify, on colder days, I have 0 issues. I'm assuming it is the starter but why the issues with the heat?

bump for my own interest with more info of my problem: started it up this morning fine, drove around for a bit before I had to go to work.. stopped and started a few times.. no prob.. wasn't "hot" this AM... took other car to work cus of severe weather and thank god I did. Got home, tried to start her, no probs.. Seriously someone tell me wtf the deal is. The sun is making my car not start and then my car says ok i've tortured him enough I'lll turn over now.. I don't feel like replacing **** I don't need to. ANY suggestions on how to tell what the scenario is would be greatly appreciated..

temp didn't go over 70 according to car, didn't have 1 problem today starting and stopping and starting back up. I'd love to pinpoint the problem. Maybe I'm missing the answer to my question in this thread but I don't think I am.

^^^ did you ever figure this out? (the difficulty starting in the hot weather?)

My car just starting doing the same thing a few weeks ago, where it would always start right up when cold, but if I drove it to the store in the heat of the day, and came back out within the hour to start it, it would just "click" once with full turning of the key in the ignition. Everything lights up fine on the dash, and I can hear the fuel pump priming...

The last few days, it seems to be getting more temperamental - to the point where I'm waiting around in parking lots for an hour or so, at which time it will eventually start up... Gonna have to start bringing a book to read and a bag lunch for when I get stranded...

It's starting to get embarrassing - I'm about to go buy a bicycle...
