Unhappy My indy shop says my catalytic conv is bad

Today my shop called me and said that my cats are bad. He said he would start calling around to get the best price. My question is, are the oem cats and headers one piece? My shop said they were and cost for replacement with labor could be up to $2700. When I looked up the part number on realoem it showed the cats being separate from the headers Can someone please help me? Oh, and here was the PN I looked up 18107832909.

Thanks!

You're actually looking at the Euro cats. On US cars, the header and cats are one piece.

Yes US cats are all in one piece...

maybe its a good time to go with a Euro setup since you've got to replace them anyways... its the labor that is very costly.

Also I have a set of used OEM headers stilling around with 40K on the clock... let me know if you are interested.

FYI these are covered by 8yr or 80k miles warranty, also the DME reprogramming addresses cat ineffeciencies if you haven't already done so.

Isn't there some kind of 8 year/100k emissions warranty with the car, or am I mistaken?

You're not mistaken.there is a 8 year warranty on these cats.op didn't say if he falls in the time frame.I forgot the miles.its either 80,000 or 100,000 miles.
