Thank you...After 12 pages I could understand your doubt, however after writing a check for just shy of $20k for labor / fab (excluding all previously purchased mods for install) - The only way this wont be complete is if FMU shuts down...which isn't happening

He is - Great guy and a huge help for taking on this project with me. BTW, love what you have done with your beast.

Well I didn't really mean it like that. I loved how your car was last round. Some how I doubt after this finished process you will stop there. Seems like thats how the mod bug works and you have a serious case. This is probably one of the most extensive journals I have seen. After trying to get metal wide body on my last e46m I know how frustrating it is and I was not able to endure the longevity of it. I know you will though. Progress looks great. Can't wait to see it finished.

Cheers brother - I caught the "mod bug" meaning there, but was just giving a good laugh - no worries

I am on your page with that and know that I will always want to change something, however I must say after how much I have been busting ass to get to this point, I honestly do think that once it is completed I won't touch it again and will move on to another project while enjoying this one. I want another 911 to build up next so God willing this build is completed within the next 6-10 months I will work toward that. You hit the nail on the head with having to "endure the longevity of it" - with dough like that going into a build...1 day feels like 1 year, and 1 week of delays feels like an eternity after seeing it in pieces. Being honest however if I knew how tough it would be before committing I would have considered selling and picking up a 355

Do you have any details of the metal work you performed on your last M or pics? At this point, pics always keep me going until I hear the next update on my own build.

Thanks again

Well it was all on the build page. I guess the raw deal on the rims I bought here after waiting on ICONZ for a year was the last straw for me. A whole culmination of BS led up to me selling it off. But moving on from bills to a new place that I have always dreamed of just made sense with the market the way it is now, especially in Hawaii. Now I can mod and live nicely while driving ONE car I love. I really did not lose to much on the whole thing. To me was not so much monetary as it was time (2yrs) and constantly dealing with people I never cared to see again. I am in the military and don't really have a whole lot of time for BS and chasing stuff around. Don't know about 355 after selling but maybe before.....

I do have a pic of how the flawless rims showed up to me:

Here is one. They were all chewed up differently.

My car was silver grey....Looking forward to progress pics when you get them! I still wish you were able to do the front part of the all metal widebody but this will still be epic once it is done!

Keep the updates coming!

Hey there- this build looked really awesome and I keep coming back to check up on the progress FMU has made and see nothing. With respect, I feel like that kid waiting to unwrap the holiday gifts but told I cant. It is disappointing ....

If I am not mistaken, the ideas and build process began in December 2011. It is now July 2012 and honestly, I dont see much progress in your build via FMU. Has the work truly begun or did you push the start date back? Maybe your busy and have not updated us all, but I would gather that if you had some of the build completed, you would post it up.

I dont really get it.... and I am certain you had to put down some hefty change $$$ before the project began at Fluid. Personally I expected alot more at this time....

What's the scoop with the build as I am really interested in your M but feel like nothing significant has kicked into gear....

My respect for serving brother.

I don't blame you - Its a shame but I would be lying if I didn't say that not only having no progress to show at this point - but having no progress to see myself is a bit deterring. The most unsatisfying part thus far is working so hard to build first buy the flossman / seats / belts / parts - and now to build up a balance but having nothing to show for it yet.

I am sure once the bodywork begins this week, God willing...I will regain motivation - I only need to see the car taking shape to be pushed to continue on...So this week should prove to be a good week provided it goes as planned this time.

Actually man the entire exterior is being reworked - At this point the E30 flares in the rear have been altered into more of an ALMS design like the E90 so the flares will extend from the pillar almost - and in the front will do the same as they will extend from the hood instead of the fender - so don't fret - its a completely custom widebody job

I know man, I am in the same boat with you...Great analogy lol - As after I worked for the balance I was so excited to see work began and now the waiting is killing me.

To make a long story short - FMU lost their main bodyshop guy, and he has been since replaced - and schooled of my project. I was told again, that it will head into the bodywork phase at the end of this week...and I will keep you posted if that changes. I have been told by a few friends that have done similar projects that building a balance like that is unheard of, and some of the things they have said about my $$/project were a bit startling but hopefully it undergoes the knife this week as I am not sure how much longer I can hold out.

I had just came to England when I originally shipped the car out - The agreement was that The car would be worked on and built AS I paid payments because it was such a large and hefty build...I sent it with the plan to pay over the course of a year and do everything along the way - Not being stateside I was in no rush...A week after it arrived at the shop I got a call requesting payment for the entirety of the build. After discussions - there was miscommunication and the payment idea actually was scratched and the owner was not pleased about that discussion ever taking place. Which meant a large chunk of $$ or no work since the car would occupy the lift. Now that the chunk is taken care of, the next phase will be bodywork/cage/exhaust in that order - then we can go from there

Thanks mate - I was patient but beginning to grow tired - I need to see some progress to be motivated again.
