ok, so after being OBSESSED with the Rauh Welt cars for years, and studying the pics of hours and hours, i came to one conclusion...

The Rauh Welt rear bumper is just about the same width as the stock rear turbo flares.

The back of the flares are angled in to meet the same line as the rear bumper.

There has been alot of wide conversions that i have seen and i think this is one of the key aspects that is missed, or why the cars look so funny...

here is what i mean...look at the rear flares in this pics, see how the line is straight and "cut in" to match the angle of the rear bumper

in looking at this pic, the rear bumper looks factory length

sorry for using this pic, but this is what i mean, see how the bumper was extended to meet the back of the flare and the angle is completely wrong

my solution, and i could be completely wrong, but o well....

leave my rear bumper stock width and cut the flares in to meet the bumper....

its all about the angle of the dangle SmileWavy

i think i have just about nailed the rear bumper and flares

so i was not happy with the way the front flares were shaped, i also had 13 bolt holes and the rauh welt cars have 11, my spacing was off, so i decided to fill all the holes in the flares, weld the holes **** in the fenders, and start over,...here we go

flares reshaped, holes welded shut

self etch and body filler to straighten everything out

pissed neighbors / filler primer

"newly" shaped front flares and fenders mounted

Somehow this is the first time I'm popping into this thread. Amazing stuff.

i am starting to set small goals daily. Instead of running into the garage and working on the first thing i see and jumping around, i need to set small tasks and complete one before moving.

Today my goal was to get the passenger shark fin extended, second skim coat of bondo on flare, and first sanding of shark fin

The shark fin was the easier part to extend so far. I pray to god the drivers side goes just as easy. It took one relief cut, left it connected at the top and it fit perfectly.

ok boys, i did not forget about you guys or the car. It has been a very rough summer with work and health issues.

I lost one of my sales reps that handled the NY, CT, NJ markets to some medical leave and i have been handling her territory along with my other 30 distributors across the USA. So free time has been minimal.

I have also had alot of back issues. I just had my second MRI to find out L3 and L4 are degenerative, L5 is herniated, arthritis and "leaking spinal fluid", whatever that means. I am only 31 years old so hard to believe childhood sports took its toll that bad.

but anyway, i am still pushing through on the car.

I have completed the passenger side rear flare, rear bumper, front drivers side fender and flare.

Rocker panels are about 65% complete, passenger front fender is complete but flare still needs some work. Rear drivers flare is still proving to be a nightmare, but i am getting close.

the snake eye bolts just came out to mount all these flares and rockers. took 4 weeks to get here from england somewhere.

but here is some pics....drivers side front bumper is done also.
