I was looking for an E46 for a while, and now made the jump to an E92 after almost a year of looking for an E46.

The TT is not that small. I'm 6'3 and the cabin is a very nice place to spend time...beautiful design, practical (driver centric) layout and plenty of room. The hatch is awesome and when you fold down the rear seats you have a pretty ample amount of cargo space.

Also, I don't see how it being "just another TT" is a bad thing...not any worse than the M3 being just another 3-series. The TT is a very smart looking car to begin with. Add the RS treatment and it only gets better.

The TT is very different from a Golf, which is more closely related to the A3... The difference between the TT and the A3 is that one has largely an aluminum chassis with some high-strength steel, and the other one is largely a Golf.

Porscha, where did you come under the impression that the TT shares a chassis with the Golf? The only TT that shared a platform with the Golf was the first generation. For all the hate that some people have for the TT, many people don't understand what a game changing vehicle it was for its time (1st generation)

Many ideas that were implemented in the 1st generation TT were not only revolutionary, they were game changing for a lot of manufacturers. One example is the Aluminum/chrome surrounds on the hvac slots. Completely original idea that is now copied by many manufacturers. Another unique feature were the available baseball glove stitched seats. I've never seen anything like it before in my life. I do believe that without the TT as a testbed, we would have never seen beautiful cars such as the A5 and R8. The TT was the first Audi that really featured out of the box styling that went against the traditional design cues of the time.

As far as the current generation TT-RS is concerned, it represents serious bang for the buck. The car itself is a rare bird, and is IMO a beautiful overall package. Everything about the car just "fits" from the 5 spoke wheels, to the Recaro Sportster CS seats, to the special body valences. The fact that it comes with a six speed manual trans and a 5 cylinder engine with an exhaust note that can is equal parts beautiful melody and awesome is just the icing on the cake for me.

Side note, i do expect to see the resale value of the TT-RS age well. Every time VAG puts out a limited edition model, they always hold their value well. (See VW R32)

OP is still leaning toward an E92 ... It's just a great all-around car despite the RWD (in the NE) and bad gas mileage.

Just for the record, I've never hated on the E92 ... It just wasn't the right car for me last time around. The E92 is not a great weekend toy (IMO), so when I had two cars it wasn't the best choice. Now that I'm considering going back to one car it makes a lot more sense as a combo DD/fun car.
