![]() The M3 has always been an amazing car, but it's designed to be used as everyday transport. Why you'd want one solely as a weekend toy is beyond me...there are more fun, less practical options out there. As a dual purpose daily driver/fun car, it's one of the best. I've definitely fantasized about ordering an Individual E92 in Mora Metallic w/ Ecru full leather. ![]()

The only negative comment that I've ever made about the E92 M3 was with regard to the styling, which has grown on me...
I still believe that the M3 is without a doubt the best 4-seater GT that money can buy... By 4-seater, I mean a car which seats 4 adults. It's also nice that it doesn't weigh as much as a house, unlike the M5 & M6. |

Whatever happened to the days when M3forum was the hot spot to rag on how much of an overweight GT the M3 has become?
![]() I'm currently buying a TTRS because I don't need to seat 4 adults. It is much more nimble and is an actual sports car vs the E92 M3 being a sporty GT. The E92 M3 is an amazing car and I would not hesitate to buy one. However this would only be if I had compromise significantly as the E92 M3 (much more than past M3's) is the jack of all trades, master of none. Thus if you are an upscale adult + an enthusiast and could only own one car, that is where the E92 M3 really shines its brightest. There's not really anything particularly wrong with the E92 other than it being too soft. Its main problem is the competition has caught up so signifigantly. The E46 M3 never had anything close to the TTRS, or even the C63, to compete with in it's day. .

Not really sure why you think the TT is that much more of a sports car other than a bit if weight. The E92 is the more focused car IMO.

E92 is more focused as a fast/sporty/luxurious/comfortable/spacious grand tourer.
As a nimble, fun, go-kart like toy with monster torque... TTRS wins quite easily. Neither is better than the other, they are just meant to go after very different driving experiences. And "a bit of weight" is a big deal, otherwise wouldn't everyone just be GTR or V10 M5/M6 fanboys?

Its a great car, but I just don't see it over the E92 M3. Its all relative though. I would tire of the TTRS eventually because I love RWD and fun I can have in it. Last edited by rave426; Mon, Jun-04-2012 at 01:10:02 AM. |

From my research you're about right, it's about a 250-275 lbs. weight difference.
I also agree on the RWD point. That's what my two lighter weight M's are for!
