Default Will a Dynavin Unit fit with my Gauges?

Hello all,

I'm relatively unfamiliar with the components necessary for a dynavin unit and if any relocation is needed. Here is the setup currently, and I was wondering if a dynavin will fit in this car/function properly without serious modification. I'm not looking to change my gauge location but really do like the dynavin unit, so if it is absolutely necessary I'll go from there.

Here's a quick picture to reference where my gauges are:

I remember reading previously that I needed a trim cut out to fit the dynavin unit, and a relocation trim for something, not sure if my gauges are in the way. If someone can point me in the right direction for what is needed for the swap, please let me know. Thank you

The climate control needs to be moved where your gauges are to install the Dynavin. So you have to move your gauges or the climate control or not do it.

Do you know where I can buy the relocation kit for the climate control and the trim to fit the dynavin unit? I've been thinking about switching to the mouse ears on the steering column, might be a good excuse to change.

Hopefully someone F/I can chime in here, I'm not too fond of the gauge location now and have been waiting for an excuse to move them

How does everyone like the dynavin unit? I'm still trying to figure out if it's the right path before I look into relocating the gauges.

There are not too many nice stream line ways to integrate gauges into the dynavin unit. I already searched high and low to find something easy to use and work with but never had much luck. I would look into doing either of the options once you do the Dynavin and get rid of the gauges:

Mirror Gauge
Steering column Gauge
Center or Left vent gauge

I run a combination. I have my ScanGaugeII in a custom molded piece to replace the ash tray. This is plugged into my OBD2 port. I can use this to read and clear codes and also monitor almost all sensors that I need. My primary display is set to Speed/Voltage/Water Temp/Ignition Advance.

I then made a wideband/boost-vacuum/meth gauge in the driver side vent.

These two combinations is supplies me with every gauge info I need...

I was trying to find a digital vent gauge/digital ash tray gauge and you have both I'm not a fan of looking all the way down to look at my gauges though so I've been leaning towards the mouse ears or if I can find a gauge relocation for the vents without sacrificing the climate system. How do you like the dynavin unit?

Yes I love my Dynavin. Interior mods you get to enjoy every day.

The relocation kit is just a piece of plastic and it is like $50 from Tischer.

I went about a year without buying it. I just stuffed the A/C controls in the slot.

It was a little wiggly and didn't quite sit straight so I went ahead and finally did it right.

I love my Dynavin. It's an older V5 model though. It does have a few bugs here and there and there are some menu screens that I wished looked a little more factory or streamlined to the other menus, but for the price I paid over a year ago I can't really complain. The new Android D99 looks awesome though.... Some big things coming around for the Dynavin like unit called the Enco.

I was thinking about your gauges on my way to work. Considering the left side vents, I don't think you can read the right side reading from the driver seat. My wheel seemed to obscure it.

I agree gauges by the shifter are really inconvenient to read while taking in all the other information while driving.

I've seen gauges in place of the center vents before. I think they look pretty good on the A pillar if it fits the theme of your car.

Good luck!

You're absolutely correct. But I think the viewing range really depends on the drivers' seating position. I can see the far right gauge without any issues and I sit vertical. I could see it being a problem though depending how one sits.

The column mounted gauges definitely are the most visible out of all options. I just hate non factory looking stuff sticking out everywhere.
