I got my front end painted a while back. If you don't tailgate at all, your rock chips will reduce dramatically. Clear bra is great, but not 100% necessary unless you are super paranoid.

bumper to bumper traffic 75% of the time for me so even if i dont tailgate, rock chips are unavoidable

Clear bra is nice but expensive to get done correctly and the line where the clear bra stops always stands out. The bra will also scratch and swirl easier so you have to be extra careful when washing. To me it was not worth it after having my front end painted. I just do not tailgate and stay away from dump and cement trucks like the plague.

Yeah somewhat this. I was at a porsche dealer checking out a 997 turbo and i thought it was keyed across the fender. When I looked at it closely, i could tell it was wax build up along the clear bra line.
