I understand that these cars are competitive from a performance standpoint, but beyond that this is a pretty stupid comparison IMO. Don't get me wrong, I love these types of comparisons. That said the 911 has an msrp of 160k, with no options! That's roughly 50k more than the most expensive GTR you can buy stateside. If I could afford a 911 turbo s I would certainly pick it over the GTR. I prefer the 911 looks to the GTR.
If I were looking for a turbo, auto, awd track beast I would buy the GTR in a second! 50k is a lot of coin to be saving if all you really want is a super fast awd coupe. |

Yeah, I went there.
The GT-R is awesome, but I know I'd enjoy it for about 6 months and then see ya later! The Turbo S is sweet, but just stupidly priced. A "standard" Turbo is more than sufficient....IF that's your bag.

Really? Other than a GTx I can't see why you'd want any 911 besides the TT

I prefer my 911's simple and N/A. The GT3 is slightly too overkill. For hardcore sports cars, I like em front engine and RWD. I'd get a Z06 over a GT3 any day of the week. Really, the Targa4S is probably the most me of all 911's. When I think 911, I think simple, quirky, usable German sports car.

I never found the PS3 controller to be comfortable, that always puts the GT-R on the outs with me.

I would agree. I'd take a GTS or even Carrera S over either of the cars featured here. 6MT, NA, lighter weight, RWD, and far, far cheaper than the Turbo S (which is PDK-only, last I checked). I really don't need anything faster, and the feel/sound/"approachability" of the NA 911 cars is much more appealing to me.
