Default Track day brake problem

I came back from CMP this past friday. I am running PFC 06 pads front and rear and Motul 5.1 fluid. My brakes start getting spongey in the middle of the session. Coming back home, my brakes would only start working near the end of the pedal travel. Even after the brakes cooled down the pedal felt very mushy and work only at the end of its travel.(I was driving from CMP to Asheville which is 3.5 hours) Also, the brakes were making a metal to metal grinding noise.

I drove the car next day and brake pedal felt good. Also, the grinding noise disappeared. The only issue now is that I have warped rotors.

I have another track day at VIR on June 9th/10th. Trying to resolve my braking issue before then.

I bled them after the track day. Should I run some ATE blue fluid?(I got a couple of bottle of them at home) Also, what could have been that grinding noise? I pulled over to check if there was anything metal on metal but the pads were good. Only the second track day on them.

spongy brakes is probably fluid/brakes getting too hot. long pedal travel is probably air in the system if you bled them and then pedal travel was normal afterwards. or perhaps some combination of both . I prefer motul rbf600, ate super blue is similar (slightly lower boiling points), it's personal preference between those two options.

I would guess the grinding would be some pad deposits that have since worn off.

edit, just noticed the warped rotors bit. you sure? that is likely pad deposit that will eventually wear off.

Thanks. I will flush my brakes with the ATE blue and get some new front rotors. BTW, what is a good front rotor? Price and performance.

That 5.1 is not ment for high temps (on track)
Ditch it and use the superblue. Make sure you start the bleeding on the pass rear, then the other rear. Then pass front and finish with drivers front.
Good luck with that

couldn't help you there, have comp package on the e46 and the track beater is so light stockers are plenty. regarding the warped rotors bit read my edit above.

Tire rack has decent price on plain rotors. Or I like to use topbrakes .com
Also http://www.zeckhausen.com/ on the sponsors page.
He is a great guy with just as good service, and generally always has stock ready to ship.
