To get the digital readout for the water temp you press down and hold the mileage reset button and after it turns to 0 miles wait a bit longer and a number 1 will pop up. This is the test function mode for the cluster. Once it turns one keep pressing the button until you get to 19.0 after that happens wait for a sec and press the button again and you will get the number 1 again keep pressing until you get to 7 and let go and then you will get a digital readout of the coolant temp in degrees Celsius. I have had it go as high as 99 degrees Celsius on really hot days. Hope I was clear in my explanation. If you have any more questions feel free to PM me any time. I posted this exact same write up on Chris's (m3freak86) journal a while back. Hope that helps.

Thanks for sharing some feedback guys
Conditions: More feedback after todays trip to NW Arkansas. Temperature was 91°F +/- a couple degrees. 189 miles total (roughly 140 miles Interstate & remaining on hwy 23 Pig Trail )I don't have access to an OBC digital readout, so my observations aren't that precise, but from what I can tell the coolant temperature at most went needle length ahead of center. Interstate driving I experimented with speeds 85 (cruising) to 125 mph. Between these two bounds the coolant temperature was constant in the middle of the gauge. It was only when I took the scenic route to Fayetteville, AR and begin my twistie hill climb that I noticed increased temperature. Throughout the trail the driving was aggressive/spirited & without the constant wind speed for heat exchange the temperatures began to fluctuate; coasting intervals brought them back down. A/C off at all times during the trail. Overall, nothing to be concerned about for this type of driving, but long HST/HPDE sessions might make me consider upgrading water pump or some other modification for optimal heat exchange. As the benefit of the pullies, it made driving the trail that much more enjoyable! Better throttle response and pull midrange (could be butt dyno though). All in all- a well worth modification.

^good to hear that you had the same climb in coolant temps. I recently went on a cruise last sunday through the back hills of austin and it was 95-100 degrees outside and it did go up a bit. For the long highway stretches it went back down and was back in the middle.
Looks like this is normal behavior then for cars like ours that are running this pulley set up in the south in the summer. Look forward to your impressions and observations with the coolant temp. Look at my post above yours for the OBC digital readout for the coolant temp.

Okay sounds great, I'll see if I can determine temperatures on my way back south. I have peace of mind that my car is just as reliable as it was before the kit. Thanks again for viewing and feedback

Car looks great btw I too enjoy the affects of the pulleys like you said makes the car that much more enjoyable to drive in the twists and turns of hill climbs.

June 19th 2012
Decided to do a bit of cleaning yesterday after the car had been driven all the way from Little Rock to here in Fayetteville a few days ago with every known species of bug on my front windshield and bumper to show for. Washed and waxed, I wanted to capture this very rare M3 (not always clean, unfortunately). I was at Mt. Sequoyah this morning to snap a few photos, but after the clouds cleared in the afternoon, I decided to revisit the mountain for some more photo taking in better lighting. The photos have minor editing and I'll be honest, I'm not the best photographer, so enjoy them if you can. Perhaps latter this year, I'll do a proper shoot when the car is fully detailed. More on that later. Now, about the current status of the car... The car looked splendid in person! I'm really glad I adjusted the rear height last week, because I think the car sits perfectly on the Volks now. The recommended ride height as per TCK gives the right amount of drop without sacrificing the suspension geometry of the car. These photos do bring to mind that I don't need a more aggressive offset for my rear wheels. Future plans to consider, I was/still am wanting to go down to a 265mm tire (possibly Michelin PSS, PSC, or Hankook RS-3) and run a 10mm spacer in conjunction with the smaller tire to get that perfect stance. This would be equivalent to a 10" width wheel with an ET of 25. I have used a 12.5mm spacer before FWIW, but it was too aggressive and rubbed a lot. Moving forward, a 10mm spacer rubbed every once and a while, usually when the car was under heavy load, so I'm sure downsizing the tire would help for extra clearance (the fenders are cut, rolled & sealed already). Looking up the specifications of all three tires, I'm not losing hardly any cross sectional tread width with respect to my current 275mm PSS, yet I'm paying less (well, not so much the PSC ). And without further delay.... the photos from today's shoot:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Looks mean! I wonder if yellow fogs and yellow tire valve covers will look better, to match your Brembos.
