Default Most common trunk?

Iv been looking for a e46 M3 for a while now and i keep coming across this trunk that has a little bit of what you would call a spolier on it. now i know the stock 2001-2006 M3 trunk is just flat but iv been seeing this same trunk on about 50% of the M3's iv seen.

It looks like this one but for a e46 not an e90/92/93

so what trunk is this? why is it so common?

That looks like an Asuka trunk. And as far as I know they are pretty rare.

Common? I've never seen one. If it's so common on e46 M3's, then why don't you post a pic of one on an e46 M3 and not on an e9x?

Oh, and while I'm at it, it would look aweful on an e46 M3 IMO.

I think you are talking about a CSL style trunk. Please google "CSL decklid e46" .

They are all after market, although a few people have sourced OEM ones from Europe, it was only stock on the E46 M3 CSL made in limited numbers for the Non-North America market in 2004.

All other e46m3 coupes had a normal coupe trunk shared with the non M car, and had a small stuck on lip spolier. The Cabrio's had the same trunk as a non M vert and no lip spoiler.

You've probably been seeing the CSL trunk.

CSL is more rounded.

But Varis trunk looks more like what OP is referencing. Here is pic:

A CSL trunk is relatively common though. Way more common than that. OP never said how exactly the trunk is shaped. Only that it also looks like a spoiler.

IDK, maybe it's just my slightly twisted sense of humor, but does anyone else not find it funny that OP sees this on 50% of the M'3's that he's seen!?!? He must be looking exclusivley on this forum...it's no wonder he thinks it's either a factory option or specific to certain model years.
