Don't bother going through BMWUSA. If they even cover it (big IF there), they'll replace it with the same flawed part. I recommend getting the TMS or HPF reinforcement plates and having the repair and reinforcement done at an independent indy shop.

I thought only the rear subframe had the tendency to crack or fracture I didn't know the front was also an issue....

Does the TMS subframe kite cover the front as well

BMW won't stand behind your product fully and entirely doesn't care about you and the safety of everyone around you. Also don't go to your dealer, they know nothing. BMWNA will possibly offer you a small amount on the dealerships huge repair. Bottom line with BMW your sol, and it's cheaper, faster, better to fix yourself. Do it soon because once crack damage is exponential compounding to the point the car is undrivable and basically totaled. Its Unbelievable they are able to get away with this type of business practices putting people's life in jeopardy.

There is no issue with the front subframe that BMW ever covered... Ar you sure it is just not a small non structural tear that some people have near the "battery box"

Pretty sure they are refering to the rear subframe front right mounting.

BMW won't cover it, or at least I couldn't get them to.

If you do get it replaced, it'll be replaced with the vert floor, which is much more resistant to tears.

I have the vert floor going into mine right now... which I am then going to re enforce with plates and then fill with structural foam. Should be the strongest possible rear subframe configurations short of integrating it into a cage.

Are you certain there is another specific part number for this convertible floor??
I had heard this rumor before in speculation since it's a firmer chasis. But I had my floor done by BMW and had the part number and this seems to be the same as all replacement E46 floor sections.
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partxref....ur=&series=E46

so if you're able to supply the part number, or have a photo taken and compare the two that would be great help.
