CSL airbox and cams at Barber Motorsports HPDE Memorial Day weekend 2012
Finally worked out the kinks with misfires on my current setup, thanks to John at R&I. I was a little hesitant going all out with my CSL box and CSL cams on this outing at Barber Motorsports on Heart of Dixie's Memorial Day weekend HPDE. There was occasional stuttering, for lack of a better term, at 4th gear right around 6K RPM when pushing it hard. Otherwise, it went well that weekend.
Pardon the noob driving. I'm not n1smo, and my home track is not the Nurgburgring.  I think I've mostly gotten the line down pat. Will do better next time. Although the Recaro PPs and CG lock were adequate, I felt more planted in my stock seats and Schroth Quickfits. I'm considering going all out with a rollbar and harnesses but it's still my daily driver.It was also my first time using my ancient 3 year old GoPro that I dug up from my track bag. http://youtu.be/ot4GaN9J8Jk Current Mods: Engine- 2005 ZCP S54, OEM CSL cams, new Bosch coils, new NGK plugs Diff: BMW 3.91 Intake- OEM CSL airbox, no ducting yet Exhaust- OEM CSL headers, Euro cats, Dixis section 1 and 2 Software- Evolve custom tune, OEM ZCP DME Brakes- PFC 06 pads, Motul RBF fluid, stainless steel lines Wheels & Tires- 18" OEM square, Bridgestone Potenza RE11s won at Oktoberfest raffle Exterior- Sunroof delete with CF cover, vinyl wrap, trashed CSL rep diffusers and sagging zip-tied CSL rep rear diffuser Interior- Recaro PPs, OEM 3-point seatbelts, CG locks

It almost seemed like a casual Sunday drive, albeit with helmets on. Hopefully, if my current setup holds, I can push it more at the next HPDE.

It looks fun. I curious way you made that comment about the Recaro PP seats? Do they not fit or you really feel they didn't hold you in the corners?
As you wanting a rollbar and harness I would say it is not necessary considering it's your daily driver. Be sure to share more videos of your next HPDE.

The Recaros are a snug fit. I do find that I still have to brace myself with my left foot on the dead pedal and hold on to the steering wheel tighter around corners. Much less so when I had stock seats and Schroth Quick Fits.
I'm thinking about a harness bar for DE's instead of a full rollbar, even though there's a whole slew of (mostly anecdotal and opinionated) debate about the safety of that setup.
