Wheel well liners are only $50.74 (with CC discount) each at the dealership. They actually had them in stock.

PN - 51-71-1-977-047 COVERING L $50.74
PN - 51-71-1-977-048 COVERING R $50.74

I've had the MM Underpanel for about a year now with no problems. Good Investment IMO

The debate now is whether metal or plastic is better for the underpanel. Ultimately you have to mate metal to plastic and a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Plus the plastic proponents claim metal can cut the lines during a minor front end incident like hitting a curb or backing out over a ramp where it catches. Though I've never had that happen with my JD Designs one.

There is really one person who started the "metal vs. plastic" debate and it's the guy on BFC who makes bimmerworld's under panel. I'm sure his panel works just fine, but any downsides of motion motorsport's panel are ones that he fabricated to drum up business.

That's so funny because it was the guy from bimmerworld's email that said that.

So it's "proponent" (singular).

Motion Motorsports underpanel will hold those fender liners in place pretty good. It uses two brackets and screws on each side to attach to the fender liner. If everything else fails, good old ZIP TIE is your best friend. It will never let you down. If holes are ripped, make new ones and ZIP it tight.

Well, I finally need to do this job. While doing my pre-DE tech inspection Sunday, I saw that ALL of the fender liner screws that secure the underpanel had busted free and the entire trailing edge of my panel (2-piece aftermarket aluminum, not sure whose) was hanging off. I secured it with some metal strap but it's time to suck it up and replace the wheel liners.

I don't need a DIY persay, but I do enjoy looking at pictures...

My underpanel is completely missing, so I will be buying one of the aftermarket options one of these days..
