When I had my GB out to do the cruise control, I looked at how it connected into the ventso I could fix the sag. Basically what I did was to slide the vent in to the dash, and put the screws in the vents in loosely, then put the glovebox in and all of its associated screws. Then, close the glovebox, and tighten those screws down in the vents. What I noticed is that when my vents sat in my dash before, they were recessed in a little bit. I just tightened the screws until the vents sat flush with the dash, and voila, no more sag! This might be something to try if you don't want to modify anything just yet.

Hencini's suggestion worked for me. I realized the lower tabs on the vent/lock panel were bent on mine. Likely caused by someone trying to install it without pulling the box housing out first. It's very hard to get the two tabs on the top part of the vent panel to hook into the box without taking it out. When they don't hook in you end up having to push the panel in and then the lower tabs get bent. I had to buy the panel twice since I bent them again on my first replacement. Fixed the gap perfectly for me, though.
Had to move the lock twice, though.
