Default No CPO on Dinan modified cars

I went to buy a used 330I with my friend today. It was for his wife and we decided we would tag team my sales guy at Cunningham. We had the deal done and then it was dicovered the car had the Dinan software. BMWNA is denying the CPO program on any Dinan modified car.

I never heard of this before.

My salesman mentioned this to me. They're ok with Dinan mods for the duration of the 50K warranty, but they won't CPO a Dinan car. He also said that adding Dinan parts to a CPO'd car *could* void the CPO warranty.

I imagine that some dealers will, some won't. Just depends on whether or not you know the right people.

Cunningham is one of the top 10 Dinan dealerships in the nation. NO CPO for Dinan Cars is the official position of BMWNA.

I was astonished.

if an authorized Dinan dealership for a CPO Dinan BMW, is that CPO under BMWNA or Dinan?

I find it interesting that BMWNA would CPO a BMW based on which DEALER it's sold thru.

Make no sense.

I know one big selling point for Dinan is so-called BMW warranty approved, and that's how they are able to change huge mark up that un-informed consumers are will to pay.

But after reading BMWNA refused to CPO a Dinan modified BMW, it's really shows how much BMWNA has confidence in Dinan!!

I have seen comments on vehicle history reports about dinan stuff being installed, and certain parts of warranties not working anymore.

chalk up another reason BMWNA sucks a fat,wet donkey dong.

This just a step bellow encouraging BMW CCA track events, and voiding warranties on every car that participates.

Why do people expect the world because they buy Dinan parts. Dinan isn't regulated by BMW last time I checked. Dinan is not the factory tuning arm of BMW like AMG is to Mercedes, so why would you except them to treat your car like it's a 100% BMW product.
