Hey guys we just got in our new 2013 Boxster S this week and I got the chance to put some miles on our launch demo cars over the weekend. First impressions are the car is physically much larger, more impsoing, great road presence and a more substantial car overall. The steering feel is weighter than in the new 991 and provides more feedback and a more natural feeling overall. I managed to pull 1.1G around a corner using the onboard G meter and was amazed at the stability and ride comfort of this car. The new PDK is the same as the 991 and is finally a transmission that will get me out of my manual at some point in the future.
Gas mileage is very good at a rated 21/30 for the PDK version. Power for me still could be increased, as it will no doubt be on a limited ediiton model down the road, as well as the Cayman. Speaking of the Cayman this Boxster forshadows an epic new car next year with the 330hp+ Cayman S being a contender I am sure for best drivers car again. The pricing of these models is the only sore spot as it can get out of hand with too many options ticked and head towards mid $80K's very quickly. The Cayman will be even pricier next year... ![]() |

It's a very good car but at that price not a chance in hell.

I just tried pretty damn hard to keep the cost low. Came in at 77.8k. Could have gotten a bit lower without wheels and full leather, but I didnt even choose premium package so it evens out.
Its pretty much an 80k car with options that make sense. Cayman will def be and 80k car.. ![]() Porsha n Tut may can get it down to 70k... |

^^ IDK. The way Porsches hold value an 80k Boxter today will still be damn near 70k two years from now.

$72K for a 6 speed manual nicely optioned, or $77K with a PDK...a lot of $$$.
We heard we are getting a 4 cylinder entry level 1.6 Turdbro boxer engine with approx 220hp or so....but I still want a 350 hp R model next year... ![]() |
