Default Re: M3 Torsional Rigidity specs?

^ interesting...now a third number for the convertible?
so 11,500 Nm for the e46 convertible and only 12,500 Nm for the e46 coupe that has a rigid roof. something sure seems off with those numbers.

Note to self.... Weld a piece of metal in the trunk pass through and get rear tower strut bar.

I'm curious also as far as actual numbers. I have the Mason rear strut bar that triangulates down to the subframe as well as a bolt in cage and my car feels fairly stiff. But, I wouldn't mind stiffer, haha.

Interesting stuff I never considered a rear bar. You guys notice the difference that much? Who else makes bars? Any popular ones?

Dinan rear strut made my car quieter when going on a ramp. So I guess it works! More rigid.

Mason. Hands down the best one, IMO.

Cool and interesting topic. You guys are on it, which is why I enjoy this forum

What condition would equate to 12,500 Nm/deg of twisting force? Driving of a curb maybe? Not being a smart ass or anything, I just don't know.

I'll try to remember posting back here, but you may check my journal. I'll have it in there for sure at the next shoot.

This document states the M3 does have increased rigidity compared to the non-M, but it does not reference actual numbers. You'd think the info is out there somewhere.
