Default Your recommendations for "full snow" tire?

This 90+ degree heat made me wish for the cold. This coming winter will be my first with an M3 (I live in Pennsylvania). What tires are available for my stock 18s (staggered)? I have done some searches, but most of the info is for sport winter/performance winter. I am looking for dedicated/full snow as this will be a DD - picking-up kids, errands, etc. I need to be able to drive with confidence in bad winter conditions. I am not that concerned with dry/highway performance. Price is also a factor - I just need something to get the job done.

Thanks for any advice.

I've heard great things about Bridgestone's Blizzaks. After some research myself, it's what I'll be looking into getting for the winter as well.

Anyone know if running them on OEM 19s (staggered) is fine?

I had Blizzaks on my last E46, they are a very capable tire. I'm not sure they sell them in 19s though. I had them on my stock style 68s, 17 inch.

I have been using Blizzak's on my E46 M3 for every winter since I first got the car.

I use the same Blizzak's on my E90 M3 and on my former Cooper S and G35.

Easily my favorite winter tire

+1. I deal with pretty intense winters up here in VT & DD the car with studded Hakkas. I saw that you'd like to keep the stock wheels, though you'll get slightly better handling in the snow if you get some 17" not-so-wide wheels for you snow tires.

Stick with ice and snow category and you'll be fine. The Michelin X-ice is a good one. Blizzaks are good but tramline like a b@#$$ on grooved pavement. I prefer the Dunlop wintersport3D (high perf)
, good tire, quiet and no tramlining.

Michelin x-ice are great. I've been using pirelli scorpion snow and ice on my X5 DD on dedicated 18's. Have the same on my wife's R class. They have been great!
