Default NoVA:Curry's Charity Dyno Day (pics)

Just thought I would write a quick review of this event for all that missed it. I was very impressed with the whole experience! You cant beat a dyno run for $65, catered food including breakfast and lunch and goodie bag with coupons. There were some amazing cars there, both for show and dyno. Including a brand new Elise, 911 turbo slant nose, 996 TT, 1988 6 series, M3's including two e46's, 330ci, and a Mustang+blower which had a nice dyno run. I also had a chance to drive a fellow named Howard's 95' silver M3 that was BUILT for the track and also for street. He had the Turner Cams which were just awesome to feel as they kicked in. He ended up running 237hp, which kicked a$$ in the 3.0 liter class! I also met just a bunch of really friendly people who all share the same passion as me. I will definitly be back next year so grab a spot early.

P.S. Edgy, did you get a run in? What were your results?

Do they run normal runs all the time there? Or was this a special, once a year thing?

What were your numbers? Too bad everything fell through for me yesterday, I would have loved to come down there. I ended up scratching my car in a couple places taking my seat out while I was fixing the sensor mat.

205hp, 195tq. But we had a discussion about the weight of each car that they dialed in wasnt totally correct. They generally gave each e36, M3 or not, a weight of 3500lbs. Anyways, Im pretty sure you can go anytime to get a run in, but I overheard them talking about 4WD only after 4:00pm. Just make sure you tell them what kinda of car you have before you go up there as its pretty far away.

3,100 should be more accurate. You can calculate it from the vin sticker...

Where is it excactly. Sounds like they have mustang dyno system... which from what I have learned here.. seems to produce either lower numbers, or less acurate numbers...

Lower numbers than a Dynojet but more accurate.

THIS one is supposed to be really accurate. I'm lucky to have this dyno near me

Thumbs down I was especially edgy Saturday

No I didn't. I was late, got there 5:20 for 5:00 appointment, and they had switched the Dyno over to AWD.

My fault, I underestimated drive time, BUT I'm a little salty. I called and talked to a "Tim", told him I was running late. But he never told anyone, inc. the Steve guy from BMW CCA. Particularly interesting based on your 4PM comment. So drove a long way for nothing.

Curry's offered another Dyno appointment for the same $65, but I don't work near there anymore, so no convenience factor at all.

205HP 2K? Sounds accurate, that's right at the ballpark 15% loss figure, correct?

It's way ass out there, back behind Dulles Air off 28. Directions weren't the best either.
