Default stupid is as stupid does...

Ok,
So I am arguing with the GF and not thinking when I back out of my sisters driveway right into a mailbox on a steel pole. no dents but a nice vertical line of paint came straight off the back bumper...what an idiot.
Anyways anyone have a guess as to what I am looking at for $ for repair? Do they have to sand an repray the entire bumperor can they just do a portion?

If it's just the rear bumper, you're looking at around 400-500 easy. You don't want to partially spray any peice of a car, as you risk clear coat peeling off down the road. Proper repair to the rear bumper would be to get it completely resprayed from end to end. This should be painted off the car also, so you don't have to worry about overspray on the rest of the car.

Do you have any pictures?

Default I know how you feel....

Last year, before I bought my M, I lost my wallet in a small village... Trying to retrace my steps, I backed out of my GF's driveway, right into a parked GMC Pickup truck... Ok... I'm thinking I've done it now.....

The Tally?

Talon - Broken right rear tail light and scratched corner of rear bumper... cost to repair: $50 (bought a used light from Ebay)
Pickup - Severly dented right rear quarter-panel and bent/broken exhaust...
($1800 at a body shop! - Ouch!)

The Score?

Talon - 1
Pickup - 0

Sorry to hear that. Hope it all works out. Consider doing it at a friend's shop or something for less $$$. Connections always help.

like others said, it'll be $300~$500+ to get that repaired, painted, and aligned. Depending if you color match other other panels or not, it may cost even more.
