Default upgraded nav

hey guys, i asked this/searched before about upgrading the cdbased nav (mkiii) to the dvd based nav(mkiv) and the response i got was that noone has done it, i also have an x5 and i was on www.x5world.net and in one of their instructions for a nav diy, they stated that if you want to upgrade from mk3 to mk4 its a simple swap out and plug and play.

so what im gonan try to do is get a friend who has the dvd based nav on his m3(2004) and just temporarily switch it out and see if it works. just wanted to inform you guys, if anyone has any inputs post it.

take care,
mustafa ali

The upgrade won't cost that much. You are looking at about $700 for the new computer and there is a chance you can sell the old MK III unit to make up some of the cost.
