Default Rear Tow Dongle Came Off - Help

My rear tire broke down last night. So this morning I had a flat bed come get my car to take it to the shop to get new tires. When the guy was going to tie down the car with his chains... The rear dongle (or whatever its called) came right out (Including the base that gies inside the bumper cover). Looking at it... that thing is weak!!! Very thin metal lip holding it in place... so the thin lip bent and came out... messing up my bumper a bit... nit to mention now I dont have that back there in case of another tow.

My question is... should I file a claim with BMW... since in my opinion thats a defect? The guy didnt even get to put pressure on the chain.

WHat will the stealer say?

First off tow guy should not be using chain on your car, BMW says tie down with nylon straps only on the tires... And was your car on a flat surface with it was getting winch onto the bed?

By dongle I mean the loop thing that has a thread an goes into the bunper hole.

The car was on a flat surface and the toe guy was just holding it down. He used some hooks that had chains tied to them.

That would be the tow hook. Use of the term "Dongle" is for computer geeks or really desperate gay guys.

Also, the two hook is not meant for pulling the car onto the flat bed. Your bumper will rip out, ask me how I know.

The guy didn't pull the car onto the flatbed using the tow hook. He used the tow hook to secure the car once I had driven the car up the ramp. I drove it up in reverse... yet the manual shows the car with the front facing forward. I dont think I could get the car in that way without messing up the front spoiler. What do you guys think the dealer will say?

Does anyone know how I ask for that part in the dealer?
