Default SMG Launch control and burn-out modes

Ok... I know info is posted at: http://www.m3smg.com/special_functions.htm for SMG tips and tricks. I've done the controlled launch properly a couple of times, however, the past 3 times I have tried a controlled launch I've burnt out instead... yeah its fun, rear end goes side ways, the people in the lane next you to freak out, dogs start howling (ok, maybe not)... but then you lose to that guy driving a SRT4 (no offense to any owners).

Has anyone had similar experiences? Am I pressing the pedal to the floor too slowly? If it is held down too long before releasing does the program switch to “burn-out” mode? :nixweiss:

According to the SMG site, pressing it to the floor quickly enacts the full clutch drop, but slowly enables launch control. Today I pressed it very slowly 3-4 secs bringing it to the floor as the past time I thought I did it slow and it burnt out. My rear tires still have about 5mm tread depth and today when it happened I had been driving on the highway for about 30 mins before I attempted it at a stoplight. Pavement was dry.

when i do it slow.. i do it SLOW... about 15 second SLOW hahaha and it didn't even do a single burnout... it actually didn't even feel like a launch...

but anyways.. if your racing an srt-4.. you honestly dont need that launch.. u can beat it off the line by jus stompin ur accelerator or jus gradually but steadily increasing the throttle.

Thanks... I guess I'm not depressing the pedal slow enough , but in the past I don't recall doing it super slow. I'll have to try it tomorrow. I don't want to just beat the SRT4, I want to embarrass it... plus it seems like everyone around here is getting the stage 3 boost option on their SRT4. I've come across a couple of people that have it installed (raced one on the highway - they pull well) and know there are more in the area.

so let me get this straight... because in the video it says fully press the pedal then let go of the lever...but wont that put you in burnout..i dont get it.. or are u not sposed to push the pedal down all the way just enough to get it too 1800 then let go and slowly floor it?
